George Avakian by Will Friedwald in the Wall Street Journal

I've met George Avakian a bunch of times...living legend, great producer, signed Miles Davis to Columbia. I met him through Jon Hendricks as George had produced the Lambert, Hendricks and Bavan albums for RCA way back when. Will Friedwald, the great jazz writer, wrote the piece.
